The Netherlands National Committee is a member of WPC Energy . Together with some 60 other member countries, it forms the governing body of WPC Energy. The Council is responsible for electing the President and the Executive Committee every four years to develop and execute its strategy. The Council selects via majority voting the host country for the next WPC Energy Congress from the candidate countries. It also elects a Congress Programme Committee (CPC) to ensure the scientific and topical quality of the Congress.
By participating in the CPC, a National Committee contributes directly to the content and quality of the Congress. This includes selecting the best papers submitted for the Congress Technical Programme, and supporting industry and academic leaders who wish to chair one of the Congress sessions.
National Committees also have the opportunity to host a Ministerial Session at the Congress, as well as participate in the dedicated National Committees area within the Congress Exhibition – offering further opportunities for visibility, engagement and networking.
Collaboration is key to our approach and The Netherlands Committee seeks to work closely with other WPC Energy National Committees regionally and globally, as well as a wide range of national and international organisations, institutes and associations. Our work is guided by principles of openness, transparency and cooperation.
Committee members may represent any energy field and may typically come from companies, academia, government, professional institutes, associations or agencies.
